Context
Noku is a secret security door system.
To unlock the door, you need to reproduce the establish knock frequency on the object's center.
This little ninja, thanks to a piezometric sensor will recognise the number, strength and duration of knocks and warn you in time if the code is valid or not. For this, luminous feedbacks guid you for each knock. Good knocks result of red flashing and ends with a green signal if the frequency of knock was properly reproduced. A bad knock will generate a long red light signal, you will have to start from the beginning and try again.
Let Noku protect your home !
Process
All design specialties brought back together
Cross functional teams
Industrial & UX design team
First collaboration
First time building a fully functional connected object
Industrial designer took responsibility for the 3D
As UX designer” responsible for all interactive part
However worked in a sharing and learning spirit, perfecting our skills
Research and ideation
UX research: understand our environment, analyse needs
One shot methodology: very short time frame
Shape our product/ 3D modeling
3D printing of our product
Program arduino
Interaction between human and machine
Haptic feedback
Always side by side: improving our skills from eachother’s field
Several tests ran until reached our goal
Assemble full object
